Ways to Pray

In Communication with God, posture matters

Santo Domingo de Guzmán in 3 moments of Prayer

Of course, the posture must always be comfortable. Who would talk to a friend sitting in a posture that looked like a 4? Everyone has to find their position

However, sometimes, to obtain a certain fruit of prayer, Saints formulate their ways of praying, such as Santo Domingo de Guzmán who highlights 9 different forms or modes. For example, when he used mode 8, his companions report from Santo Domingo de Guzmán that:

"He sat quietly, opened the book [Bible] and made the sign of the cross, read giving his attention with sweetness, as if he heard the Lord speak according to what the psalm says: "I will listen to what the Lord says"this phrase you will find in a Catholic Bible where there is a book called 'Psalms' and that are a collection of Songs; the phrase comes in the book 'Psalms' chapter 84 verse 9 in textbooks usually appears as: Ps 84, 9

Well, let's learn from Santo Domingo de Guzmán these 9 simple ways to pray 😀

820 "Christ bestowed unity on his Church from the beginning. This unity, we believe, subsists in the Catholic Church as something she can never lose, and we hope that it will continue to increase until the end of time."277 Christ always gives his Church the gift of unity, but the Church must always pray and work to maintain, reinforce, and perfect the unity that Christ wills for her. This is why Jesus himself prayed at the hour of his Passion, and does not cease praying to his Father, for the unity of his disciples: "That they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be one in us, . . . so that the world may know that you have sent me."278 The desire to recover the unity of all Christians is a gift of Christ and a call of the Holy Spirit.279
